couldn't it be more controlled, like you could buy premium (canada's finest KGB) or you could buy generic (mexican brown crap)?
wouldn't you think the government would be interested in getting it off the black market & applying a tax to it, huh?

It would be nice if the government could slap a tax on it and control the market, but lets be realistic here, if cigarettes were insanely expensive, people would just go to their best friend the burnout and buy a pack at a cheaper price, sure it would be funny to see a bunch of tobacco growers sprout up in cities across the country, but the fact stands that it wouldnt be accepted well. If somehow the government was able to get a monopoly on the crop, and could keep control without fucking it up (almost an impossiblilty there), I'm afraid to say you would still have a few thousand idiots just like me running around, and it would quickly be stopped, eh bernadette

Well. Im right wing, narrow minded, and I'm a fuck. Annnd I said it just cause of whoever it was that got all uppity about what I wrote before. My father, a doctor, works in pain management, he perscribes all of your heavy hitters, and he could legally perscribe Marijuana if he saw fit, he doesn't though. I've asked him about it before (if anyone knows about perscription drugs, its him, top of his profession, a respectable doctor in a field that has had more problems with MD's abusing their abilities) and basically, aside from the fact that its sort of a taboo approach to respectable medicine, the number of people who have Marijuana as their only option is small enough that the whole debate is little mroe than that, just talk. I understand that there ARE people who have nowhere else to turn, but with what I've learned from my father, the majority of people will use legal chemicals to curb their pain.
I am a user and have been for a while, but it isnt for everyone. I've gotten lucky so many times smoking this shit, and I'm sure most of you have as well. I mean I really hate to break it to ya, but there isn't much to discuss here, the numbers are far too small to make a difference either way. If Marijuana were legalized, or decriminalized, I dont think anybody could accurately show how it would all work out, not to mention, that the very possible abuse of its decriminalization would shadow any possible positive benifits (think Wellfare) You all get your weed no problems, if somebody has a terminal illness and needs something to stop the pain, they have multiple options to take, and uh, trust me, Morphine, Percocet, Methadone, Oxycotin, it isnt like that shit wont fuck you up. Think about it, weed is good, but interms of painkilling properties it pales in comparision to these others.
So yeah, basically I dont think it should be legallized for pain issues, there are far better options. If it is your only option, then your going to get it anyways just as all of you will always be able to get ahold of the greens. If anyone can set precedent of a place that has thrived with widespread Marijuana consumption, please post a link. Amsterdam is either a shithole or a nice place to visit, depending on which bias internet blog/article you decided to read up on so I think three should be something better than that. Call me hypocritical but they could make punishment death and people would still get their fix, legalizing is too risky, besides, your supposed to be stoners, you shouldnt be worried about current events, there are cartoons to be watched, cereal to be eaten in 3 day old underwear, sheesh.

oh yeah, and if anyone wants to see the numbers, I can throw them in as well, I just didn't have time to do it right now. Oh, and here, I found this:
Prove I look at both sides.
