I don't know where these women have been hiding all my life. On the other hand, I also haven't known men who said these things either, so who knows what the answer is there. I'm starting to get this creepy feeling like I've been living under a bucket all my life but, you know, that's really not true. I've known a lot of people and plenty of young men too, and I certainly haven't restricted my exposure to the upper crust, not by a long shot!
One thought occurs to me - could this possibly be an east coast/west coast thing?
I didn't get the impression that stingc was trying to justify insulting language, just that he was offering some analysis, btw.
