I have a whole cupboard full of old vinyl (mostly house) that I've been wanting to get into mp3's for the longest time. Like RedLemon said, most of the time if you can get it in a digital format, it's better to just buy/download the damn stuff.
I usually just start up MusicMatch in record-mode and let it record the entire one side of the vinyl into mp3. Then, using some kind of editing software, I chop it up into the respective tracks.
It's a schlep, but the only way I've been able to listen my old stuff without having to lug a turntable with me everywhere I go.
