I'm mixed on this.
If the TV is on, it is being watched. If it is not being watched, it goes off. I HATE having the TV on as background noise.
I like to have music on at home, generally classical or old jazz (big band).
When I'm driving, mostly loud or agressive music.
When I'm working, generally silence, or instrumental music that I'm not familiar with; otherwise, I'm listening, not working.
Bedtime, quiet.
