well if he's telling you to lower your caloric intake, that would explain the weight gain. Maybe as you get 'older' your metabolism is getting slower so what you once ate, now turns into a 'spare tire'. I'm sure changing the bc isn't helping either but try to get extra excercise and eat better. Less processed foods and more fruits and vegetables (fresh). I'm also guessing you don't eat much red meat as this would take care of your iron deficiency.
