Alcohol
Hey... I'm Irish. What do you expect? I still drink a lot by American standards. A bottle of wine, plus a few beers a night. And once a month I go out on a big night with my (Irish) mates down here in Australia. Nothing compared to the 3 - 4 day benders I used to do. Heinken and vodka are my mediums of ingestion of choice. Still drink most of the Australians and Americans I know under the table. Not sure that's a good thing...
Marijuana
Not really a fan, though I've had some great nights on this stuff.
Ketamine
Used a couple of times back in my clubbing days when we couldn't get E. Stay away from this stuff. It's a horse tranquilizer and can really fuck you up.
Speed
Good old, cheap, nasty speed. The poor man's coke. Rips the nose off you. Crazy stuff.
Crystal meth
Speed on speed. Nasty.
Coke
My drug of choice. I used to have a serious coke habit (around $500 a week). I love the stuff and, if used responsibly, it can be great fun. Makes you lazy though. I still do it occasionally, but don't go looking for it anymore. After all, I'm married now, not clubbing anymore and have a kid on the way. Must be getting old. Having said that, when I met up with my brother last month in San Fran (he works for a major Irish rock band) we had a great time just kicking back in his hotel room, telling old stories and doing a few lines. I still love it.
LSD
Erm... Last time I did acid I ended up running around my mate's back garden eating flowers. It's strange stuff.
Ecstasy
Most of my mates used to do this in spades. Whilst I was a regular user, I always only did a little; maybe one or two pills a night. This compared to some friends who would drop up to 8 or 9. Great fun when you're clubbing, but if I did too much it would kill me. I hate drugs that make me feel like I'm losing control and E does that to me (same reason I hate hash).
Magic mushrooms
Tried it once; didn't like it.
Heroin
Did it once, when mixed with hash in a joint, by accident. I didn't like it and would never try it again.
