Do songs from musicals count, as long as they can stand alone?

If so, my submission would be "Diary of a Homecoming Queen" from the musical Is There Life After High School?. However, I can't find the lyrics anywhere online. Although it has no reflection on my life, I can't help but cry when I hear it. It is sung by a woman whose life has gone steadily downhill through her own bad decisions, and all she can do is look back on her glory days... the refrain is something like "The marching band was playing / the kids all threw confetti / and I feel that I still have some in my hair".
