No, I just started about a year ago. I'm not that great, but I'm beginning to learn. I pretty much didn't catch any fish the first 15 times that I went (well, I caught a few), but it really takes practice and patience. Also, meeting guys that have been fishing for 40+ years and getting them to teach you helps tons
