This may have been mentioned, but it sounds a LOT like a yeast infection. Gynos don't always seem to catch those.
I had the exact same thing happening, and I had to get checked by two people before they caught it.
The yeast infection can actually degerate the tissue to some extent, making it easy to tear. I had NO OTHER SYMPTOMS of a yeast infection, but once I got treated, no more cuts.
