I understand your point. Just to be clear, I don't automatically assume that. On the other hand, I normally have only one person at a time work on my car.
When too many things went wrong, the mechanic I switched to pointed out the things like no filter on the fuel pump.
I also wasn't clear earlier. My valve COVERS, not the bolts, were broken from overtorqueing. It was a Jeep, and they were plastic. Thus, the reason for the goop liner.
