I know at least some of the stuff on that soundtrack is by
Explosions in the Sky. Amazing band, also check out
Mogwai and (my favorite)
Godspeed You Black Emperor. A couple members of GBE also made the band
A Silver Mt. Zion which I think is equally amazing. There's also the side project
Shalabi Effect which I didn't like all that much...
You might also want to check out some folk inspired stuff along the lines of
Iron and Wine,
The Decemberists or
Elliot Smith (those 3 are very different sounding, but I'm confident in calling them kind of folky)
