I agree that if you want the snowboarding type board to get the freeboard. They are sick, and you can really go fast on them if you want. You can bomb hills, or catch the rails and carve, where as the carveboard is really only ment for carving. The carveboard gives more of the surfing feeling. I have not ridden one, but I heard that the Tierne Rides board is very much like snowboarding as well. Both the freeboard and the T-rides board are cheaper than the carveboard, but if you want the smoothest, most mellow, layed back board, you can't beat the carveboard. The Freeboard has urothane (sp?) wheels and the carveboard has 8in inflatable tires w/spring loaded trucks = smoothest ride in the world.
