The more I watch this, the more I like it. Sure he's caustic and sarcastic, but he's so funny.
That opening scene where he drugged Stacy's new husband was fantastic.

Haha. The opening where House drugs Stacy's husband is absolutely the ridiculous/funny stuff you'd expect from House. And I also love House as the lovable anti-hero...much like Alan Shore of The Practice/Boston Legal.
And to add on to the surgery that Stacy authorized. Basically, House was being stubborn, and incorrectly so because he was desperate to keep his leg and have it retain full functionality. However, because of how much muscle had died in his leg due to being deprived of blood/oxygen, the chances of that were very unlikely and House's decision to "wait it out" would almost definitely lead to his death. So, Stacy took the middle ground (something she even mentioned House was not a fan of), and had them remove the dead muscle mass in House's leg, saving his leg but also leaving him with limited functionality and a lifetime of chronic pain. House knew Stacy saved his life, but could not get over the fact that she went over his head and went against his explicit requests. He never forgave her for what she did, and that led to their relationship's demise. However, the flames definitely did not die...and that is something that should make next season very interesting from the get go.
