Just a little? As in, brush and maybe (only maybe!) a bit of product?
Totally depends on your hair type. I have a short, choppy haircut with coarse, wavy hair and I can wash and wear it if I don't mind it looking slightly out of control the first day. To get it perfect, I use a round brush, a hair dryer and wax to make it look piecey--it takes about 10 minutes of effort for perfect hair.

Tell your stylist when you get it cut that you would prefer something wash and wear/low-maintenance. My style is perfect for me as sometimes I don't mind putting in a little bit of effort to make my hair look really good, while sometimes I just don't feel like it
