i dont know how many folk have read ricoeur's work (which is vast) because his writing fits in curious ways with how philosophy is understood as a discipline in the states--where does hermeneutics fit into an analytic department?--but he died friday at 92. the link below is to a lengthy obituary from staurday's libération. it is in french--i haven't seen anything in english yet in the press.
