I enjoyed this story greatly. It makes life go by so much easier when you can look at otherwise mundane parts of life with a slanted perspective.
As for not getting asked to start an account, it reminds me of a few days ago... I was waiting with a friend outside to go see a concert when this guy came up and asked my friend for some change. My friend told him (truthfully) he had none. The guy walked away without even asking me! I actually had a couple quarters sitting in my pocket. So I wondered if I looked totally broke, or if I just looked like a total asshole. He shoulda asked. Even though I probably would have told him no.
