Interesting that you should ask this question.
We are taking my 11 and 9 year olds tonight to see it.
Spoiler: According to my friend who had another friend see and report on it last night, it isn't too bad. Lots of people die via blasters, some arms are light-sabered off (no blood spurting) and all the children padawan learners in the Jedi temple are killed near the end but no guts and blood spraying everywhere.
From the discriptions it isn't any worse than the other Star Wars, if you can use them for your guide. I remember seeing the charred corpses of Owen and Baru Lars in IV and thinking that was pretty grim.
