Easy now... that sarcasm can hurt.
If you show up at a polling station (in your jurisdiction) with proper identification, they cannot PREVENT YOU FROM VOTING. You can register right there, just before you cast your ballot.
If anyone prevents you from voting, ask to see the person in charge of the polling station, and explain that you are not registered yet, but would like to exercise your democratic right. Remain calm.
If there are any further problems, I would start phoning the government. Don't hang up until you get an answer.
