Hmm, I never thought of it that way. I kind of hope to have children one day (maybe), but I always thought of it as being something I would do when I was in a more selfless stage of life. Obviously a child
would need its mother as long as it remained a child... but I wouldn't want it to be a relationship created for the sake of being needed. I like to think that I would have a child and deal with its needing me as an investment toward love (my own and my child's) in the future: need being a means and not an end.
