Okay, that might be why. Did you try a popular torrent like a linux distro? If not, try
this. You don't have to download the whole thing, just let it run for 10 or so minutes to see whether it's gonna work. At the time I posted, there are 53 seeds and 20 peers. I can't confirm speeds, since I have other things taking up bandwidth.
I'm guessing that you're getting terrible speeds because there are few people on the torrent.
