I'm interested to see what other people think about NASCAR moving more and more Nextel Cup races to Saturday nights. I saw on Jayski that the ratings for Saturday's race in Phoenix were way down compared to the same weekend last year. I didn't see the race on Saturday since I was attending the races at Colorado National Speedway, like I do every Saturday night from April-September. I know a lot of short track promoters are worried about attendance at their tracks when they have to compete against Nextel Cup.
I've actually lost interest in the upper levels of NASCAR racing over the last few years. I don't know if it was the loss of Dale Earnhardt, or all the hype about young guns vs. veterans, or the fact that I cant walk through a grocery store without seeing NASCAR logos everywhere, but it just doesn't have the same appeal it used to. Short track racing just appeals to me more than the sanitized made for tv production that is put out now.
