Actually, I would really get a putter that you're comfortable with and practice as much as you can. By turning those three and four putts into birdies, pars and bogeys you'll save yourself a lot of strokes. After all you use your putter every hole, but you might ouly use your driver or three wood off the tee a few times a round. Lately I've actually been hitting a 4 iron off the tee a lot to keep it straight and in play.
I would also look into a couple lessons with your local pro and then try to really practice what you learn from them for good consistantly. I'm really more in the same boat as you as far as consistently getting under 100, so I've looked into this question myself.
