Everyone cuts their own deal when they get hired at an employer. It's not a slight against you, that she was hired at more than your salary.

Ask for a salary review, but do not bring up that employee A makes more than you do, you have to be judged on your own merits, not on what someone new is getting.

Be prepared for what yo will do if you don't get a satisfactory raise.
