Well, that's the farce with history... who DOES know German history better? It's taught to Americans one way, Germans another. Probably taught even differently to Italians, Brits, Japanese... History has a funny way of being different to different people. Simply being in the same country does not nessecarily give one a better perspective. I'm not saying Americans know German history better... just saying one can never tell for sure.
