Yes, my state (the same one that is known to give a CCW to anyone with a pulse, a clean record, and two forms of ID) has a waiting period. It's waived if you have a pistol permit, or have taken a hunting safety course (don't have time for either right now.)
I'm looking forward to fucking up my shoulder again. Maybe I can add rotator cuff to the list of permanent joint injuries.
