CENSORSHIP
Went to Wal*Mart to buy my favourite song
Got the cd of the men whose words I worship
Put it in the player and sat down to get my groove on
Next thing I know the lyrics were all wrong
Seems the store chose to do a little CENSORSHIP
Went to the Library to read my favourite magazine
You know the one Alfred E Newman is on the cover of
Harmless fun is what it's all about
But the rack was empty not even the name to be seen
I shook my head and wondered where I could find that satire I had come
to love
It never harmed me when I was just a teen
Turned on the telly to watch my favourite movie
A harmless little tale of a man engulfed in troubles deep
I'm sure you'd know the actor but we cannot mention names
I watched in amazemnt... couldn't believe what I did see
It seems the station edited the plot, and took away the theme
CENSORSHIP is where it's at
If we can't control your mind
We'll control what you can read
We'll control what you can find
We'll control what you can see
Somewhere they preach of this great society in which we live
But it makes me wonder when CENSORSHIP does thrive
And we never say a word
We just turn our heads and say "ok, this much we'll give"
But we are victims of whatever they contrive
The artist's vision of what is or what he sees to be
Is something we must never change no matter what is said
For the crime lies not in what the artists vision is
The crime lies in what they refuse to let us see
And the fact of telling us what we can or cannot feed our head

I just love people who use the excuse "I use/do this because I LOVE the feeling/joy/happiness it brings me" and expect you to be ok with that as you watch them destroy their life blindly following. My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?"
