I don't have anything to offer regarding the medication, but I have to ask: If it isn't broken, why are you trying to fix it??!!??
What is she expecting to get out of this drug? If she doesn't need it and you don't need it, why take any risks? Remember, there are things such as alergies that you can't anticipate. Again, if it ain't broke....
