Archimonde destroyed the city.The bubble is either to keep beings out while the Wizards rebuild, or it's to keep something inside.I dont think Blizzard has explained why exactly the bubble is there..yet

I played WCIII though awhile ago. I don't remember the lich king summoning ol archi, but if that is the case what was the reason given? I thought the lich king wanted total domination and power...why would summoning something that would destroy the world do that? Also he would basically be 2nd class to archi.
Looks like it might be time for me to replay WCIII.
