Why don't you concentrate more on meeting a nice Jewish girl and then from there see if you can spark an interest in sci fi for her. I'm sure plenty of people (myself included) have no idea what the attraction is, you could show someone the light...
On a different note, everyone goes through the lows. Maybe you're in the valley now. I would try to see things for what they are and not let it break your spirit. Sometimes a grey attitude tends to create more grey. (Especially if others are picking up on it.)
