Lost in New York.
My brother was supposed to arrive last night on a plane from New York. He went over there last week for a short holiday, and was going to travel from there to here to spend a few weeks with me before going home to England.
However, he didn't show at the Airport last night - The people there (after I'd waited an hour for all the passengers to exit the airport) said that he hadn't gotten on the plane.
I've not heard from him by phone, email or anything - and I don't know whether to worry, or be angry or what to do.
I'm thinking maybe he tried to get across town and missed the flight - after that he would have had to buy a new ticket (he was on a cheap ticket) and maybe arrange another nights stay at a hotel. I don't know if he has my phone number, and Dad is away from home on business (it would have been to late to call Mum who sleeps early) so hasn't heard anything either.
The question I suppose, is at what point should I stop imagining all the 'safe' reasons why he didn't get on that flight, or call etc - and start seriously thinking that he's in trouble? And if he is in trouble, is there anything I can do to help? I mean, I can't call New York and ask if they know where my brother is can I?
I don't know what travel company he was using, or what hotel he was staying at - I'm really not used to feeling this helpless. I hate this.
