this reminded me of my parents who came to the U.S. from Hungary in about 1953 and they've never owned or driven a car to this day. So two decades ain't shit
In fact, my parents never really even wanted to own a car and got around just fine wallking and with the crappy public transportation in Philadelphia and Greyhound/trains/planes for intercity. Considering how many thousands of dollars I've wasted on cars in the last 35 years, it makes some sense to me now.
