This one interests me in a professional sense. The telescope I'm working on at my job is an "Automated Planet Finder". It will scan the skies looking for "wobbling" stars and mark their positions for closer examination by larger telescopes. It should start working in about a year. That "150 extrasolar planets" number should climb substantially after that.
