Are you so sure of that? Evolution of wings in humans would be at the cost of our arms (or legs) and there would be a lot of other evolutionary traits if we wanted them for more than decoration. To evolve a set of wings while retaining our current appendages would require us to evolve a whole additional set of limbs- something that evolution hasn't even begun to do in ANY chordate species.
Of course I think it would be grand to fly, and i'm almost hoping scientists might find an artificial crane to pull us through the hundreds of millions of years of evolution it would normally require.
