And just a clarification that I didn't see here:
The Windows designation "Unreadable" does not mean that the drive is damaged, just that the data format on the drive is not recognized by the operating system. Unless there is data on the drive that you need back the quickest solution is just a format and rebuild the Volume. If you need the data back. . . well then my friend you have my sympathies. There are several software programs that can scan it and recover information if you can't import the drive.
