you can find a used s2000 for around 18k.
like someone said above, if you want a quick car, buy something used.
look around for a used rx8. it has decent power, and looks super sweet.

if buying a new car, i would go with the scion Tc.
not as powerful as some other cars out there, but toyota has top notch reliability.
i drive a 2002 nissan sentra se-r spec v.
Its a nice quick car with lots of torque, but i've had to take it in for service alot.
luckily, i've never paid for service because its always been a warranty item or recall. but having to take it in for service its a downer. although, i gotta admit.. all the times i've taken the car in, i've been treated very nicely.
So two thumbs up to nissan service.
they've never given me any problems even though my car is heavily modified.
but if you do want a spec v, you can pick up a used one for around 10k. and new ones for around 16k if you know how to shop.
