Fortunately or unfortunately, Jesus did not say to only love your brother if he loved you first.
He said to love your brother as yourself.
The trick is to love your brother as a Christian while still trying to pursuade them to what you believe is politically correct.
If you lose in the political arena, the former requirement still applies.
