I've been reading 3 pages of this and the question that keeps coming up, for me at least, is "really, who cares?"
If your a Raider fan (and I am), you like the addition of man with Moss' numbers running on your offense. It may be true that it doesn't matter as Collins is about as worthless as a second hole in the ass, but then again he might come out and surprise everyone.
If you're not a Raider fan, what the hell do you care? Sure controversy follows this guy like stink on shit, but controversy as always followed the silver and black. People wondered how Jerry Rice would fit in with receiver core; he did just fine. Folks wondered how Romanowski (I hope I spelled that right) would manage; he did alright. Everyone talked about Sapp moving in; he's doing just fine. Moss will do the same.
Personally, I think it's nice to see another proven solid receiver running routes out there with the as yet, untested talent. I certainly would've liked to see Collins get the pinkslip, but Norv seems hell bent on making him the next 'go to guy' handling the ball, so, what can you do? Will there be controversy? Absolutely, he's a flamboyant character, no doubt about it, but I think his numbers speak for themselves. He'll do just fine.
To take it a step further, I think he helped Culpepper become a better quarterback. Maybe some of that mojo will rub off on Kerry "second arsehole" Collins. The last two seasons have been absolutely horrible, I really don't see how signing Randy Moss can do more harm than good.
