Freshman year of college, I found myself becoming attracted to a classmate. I had just come off a bad relationship, and was falling behind in a couple of classes, and therefore didn't have the time for a relationship. So, I told her that. Blindsided her completely; she hadn't yet realized that I was attracted to her.
Two weeks later, we were dating. Seven years later, we were married. Seventeen years total right now, and I couldn't be happier.
