Being somewhat of a redneck myself, I have never taken offense to the term but rather accept it as kind of a funny parody of my family's roots. Redneck does not seem to evoke the kind of anger among us rednecks that other terms do like when you call someone nigger, spick, wap, etc...
It would probably be better if we lighten up instead of looking for ways to be offended.
You know you're a redneck if Jack Daniel's makes your list of "most admired people." Now how could any redneck get upset with that kind of humor.
