I think it would definetly be an intimidating sight with that much metal at once- I've had girls that have had problems just with my apadravya (until they felt it). For a full ladder... it would be a shock to vanilla girls.
I suppose you've considered and rejected genital beading? I think they'd make the ladder less "scary".
