Kilborne left TDS because CBS offered him the Late Late show and he accepted. He went to the Late Late Show and eventually came to realize he had no control over material and didn't have a say in the direction of the show so he quit. He left TDS on his own terms and he left CBS on his own terms. The guy is funny, he just has been stuck with shotty writing for most of his career.
