so cal. though the traffic can drive a saint into road rage, it is the only place where you can surf and snowboard on the same day. i'm less than an hour from all the nice southern beaches (huntington for the waves and tourists, laguna for the chill and art, santa monica, venice, etc for the lame tourists and the dirty water -- if that's your cup of tea) and i'm 1.5 hours from an awesome mountain for snowboarding.
can't beat that, imho
