Moved to a new place

Hi,

About a month and a half ago, I moved from my college town to a new town (West Chester, PA to be exact), to start a job. I don't know anybody in here (well, actually, I know one guy who doesn't live that far..). I would like to hear what suggestions you guys have for starting a new social life here.

After getting used to the new job (and waking up early, compared to my college days, and not being home till 6 or so), I started getting bored at home.. Note that my girlfriend still lives in the college town so I talk to her every night and see her on most weekends, so it's not like I feel too lonely in here. But, I need to be in the presence of people more often; and I need to have things to do when she's going to be overseas for all the summer.

So what is a good way to find people to hang out with? My coworkers are older and live in different areas so that's not really an option.. I just joined a night-school acting class, for fun, and will be joining a harmonica class soon. That gives me stuff to do 2 nights a week for about two month, and people to meet - though I don't know if they'll end up becoming friends. I'll also start going to the gym soon (though that's more for the sake of getting in shape than making friends).

So, suggestions are welcome!

Thanks
