With Stewart in the chair, TDS has become the single sharpest and most relevant piece of social and political satire in this country (Stewart's protestations to the contrary notwithstanding).

With Kilborn, it was sorta-funny fake news. It was about as socially relevant as post-Dennis Miller "Weekend Update".

I'm not sure it's entirely the anchor that's responsible for it--there were a lot of changes in the writing too. But I definitely can't see Craig Kilborn being the sort of social lighting-rod that Stewart has become. I don't think you can even compare them; they're totally different shows.

Look, Stewart took on and and took down one of the biggest blights on journalism in the country: Tucker Carlson and "Crossfire". You think Craig could have done that?
