I'll bet there are a lot of old 13th Floor Elevators hippies like me floating around in the internet and the TFP.
Living here in Houston, I got to hear them when I was back in high school. Easter Everywhere was the most amazing album and I guess that is why there is such a cult following for the band.
I recently discovered an Austin band called The Tommy Hall Schedule that performs their music. However, instead of being just a copy band, they use the original songs to improvise the most amazing guitar solos. It's like hearing the Elevators with 21st century sound quality and technology.
Tomorrow, Sunday, they are going to be here in Houston playing a house concert from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will be doing all three Elevators albums from start to finish plus some additional unrecorded songs they've picked up from Ronny Leatherman.
So, if there are any Elevators fans out there, I can promise you that you will really like their album, which I am pretty sure is available at

And if you're in Houston, see you at the concert tomorrow. For information,

Also, I heard that Sumner Erickson is going to perform Elevators music at South by Southwest and that Roky will sit in on a few songs.
