I've got a 1993 Nissan Pickup, and I got "new" tires for it last fall. The truck was given to me by my stepfather and I had to put about $1200 into it to get it running good and inspected and everything. My friends dad is a mechanic and also has a salvage yard. He got the tires off of a recently totaled truck. I know they were new because they still had those little rubber... hair type things on them

But here's my question:
My speedometer is off, by what seems to be about 10mph over actual speed. I've lived w/ it, no big deal, but I've been wondering. Will that cause false odometer readings? I've been measuring my gas mileage and it seems a bit low, would that have anything to do with it?
