if debate is impossible,
then so is anything approaching democracy.
if this is a microcosm of the wider situation in the states
then it really does look like we have slid into someplace else
in which people pretend that nothing has happened
by recycling the same terms as if they continued to signify
this is obviously a symptom of wider processes.
what do we make of it and what do we do?
