I think there is a sigificant difference between movies that fuck with one's perception of reality:
IE: Donnie Darko, Identity, The Cell, Memento
...and those that simply have a surprise twist at the end:
IE: The Sixth Sense, Usual Suspects, The Crying Game
Those in the frist group are more "systemically" twisted in that the whole fabric of the movie is off centre. Where as those in the second group just poke you right at the very end.
