No problem, I'm glad that I could help. CDfreaks is a great resource. Another pretty good resource for this information is CDRINFO.com. However, Cdfreaks.com is the best in my opinion.

There are some really good deals to be had for DVD burners. Compusa, Staples, and Best Buy run deals on brands such as Mad Dog and I/O Magic all the time. Usually these brands are rebadged NECs, and Benqs. You can check out the specifics of which Mad Dog/ IOMagic to look for and buy in the CDFREAKS forums.
By the way, I have a lite-on 1633s for scanning/reading burnt DVDs and burning CDs. and I use a NEC 3500 for my DVD burning needs.
The Lite-On works pretty good with modded firmware, but
The NEC 3500 is awesome with stock firmware. I get excellent burn results with a large variety of DVD media.
