When I read the newspaper, I often miss the really-big headline. For some reason, my brain looks at it, decides "If it's screaming that loudly, it must be an advertisement", and filters it out of my vision.
And while we're discussing annoying posting styles,
how about the one where you post everything in color? There was someone who used post everyting in red, and his posts were often interesting, but I stopped trying to read it because it hurt my eyes too much; the color contrast is horrible if you use Sandstorm. I don't remember who it was, so I don't know if he stopped doing it or just left. No matter.
